This site’s goal is to help teens stay above the influence. The more aware teens are of the influences around them, the better prepared they will be to stand up to the pressures that they face.
American Council for Drug Education (ACDE)
The American Council for Drug Education is a substance abuse prevention and education agency that develops programs and materials based on the most current scientific research on drug use and its impact on society. ACDE offers educational programs and services designed to engage teens, address the needs of parents, and provide employers, educators, health professionals, policy-makers and the media with authoritative information on tobacco, alcohol and other drugs.

Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP)
A division of the U.S. Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. A comprehensive website containing information about all aspects of prevention programming.
Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT)
The Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), promotes the quality and availability of community-based substance abuse treatment services for individuals and families who need them. CSAT works with States and community-based groups to improve and expand existing substance abuse treatment services under the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant Program. CSAT also supports SAMHSA’s free treatment referral service to link people with the community-based substance abuse services they need.
Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT)
As the Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies, our mission is to provide training, technical assistance, evaluation, research, and other services to support prevention, treatment and recovery in the alcohol and other drugs field.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
The CDC works to collaborate to create the expertise, information, and tools that people and communities need to protect their health – through health promotion, prevention of disease, injury and disability, and preparedness for new health threats.

CollegeDrinking: Changing the Culture
NIAAA provides leadership in the national effort to reduce alcohol-related problems by conducting and supporting research in a wide range of scientific areas including genetics, neuroscience, epidemiology, health risks and benefits of alcohol consumption, prevention, and treatment; Coordinating and collaborating with other research institutes and Federal Programs on alcohol-related issues; Collaborating with international, national, state, and local institutions, organizations, agencies, and programs engaged in alcohol-related work; and Translating and disseminating research findings to health care providers, researchers, policymakers, and the public.
Community Alliances for Drug Free Youth
Community Alliances for Drug Free Youth, or CADFY, is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization working in collaboration with individuals, agencies and organizations to bring parents, youth, schools and communities together to build and promote safe and healthy environments. CADFY works at the state, national and international levels to encourage policies that target illicit drug use and related problems, promote research-based prevention strategies and programs and create initiatives that support drug awareness and education.
Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA)
Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) works on behalf of over 5,000 community coalitions from across the country to realize its vision. More than any other entity, community coalitions are poised to connect multiple sectors of the community, including businesses, parents, media, law enforcement, schools, faith organizations, health providers, social service agencies, and government.
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
The mission of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is to enforce the controlled substances laws and regulations of the United States and bring to the criminal and civil justice system of the United States, or any other competent jurisdiction, those organizations and principal members of organizations, involved in the growing, manufacture, or distribution of controlled substances appearing in or destined for illicit traffic in the United States; and to recommend and support non-enforcement programs aimed at reducing the availability of illicit controlled substances on the domestic and international markets.
DrugWatch
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 47 percent of Americans take at least one prescription drug each month. DrugWatch.com aims to educate the public about thousands of prescription and over-the-counter medications, many of which have the potential to cause serious side effects. The website is continually updated with drug recall news, recent FDA approvals, drug interactions, side effects, and current developments in the medical field.
FACE
FACE is a national, non-profit organization that wants to revolutionize the public’s understanding about alcohol and its impact on individuals, communities and society. It is our mission to advocate for action to reduce alcohol problems so people everywhere can experience life to its full potential.
Higher Education Center for Alcohol, Drug Abuse, and Violence Prevention (U.S. Dept. of Ed.)
The Higher Education Center helps campuses and communities address problems of alcohol, other drugs, and violence by identifying effective strategies and programs based upon the best prevention science.
Marin Institute
The Marin Institute fights to protect the public from the impact of the alcohol industry’s negative practices. We monitor and expose the alcohol industry’s harmful actions related to products, promotions and social influence, and support communities in their efforts to reject these damaging activities.
Mentor
For more than a decade, MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership has been working to expand the world of quality mentoring. MENTOR believes that, with the help and guidance of an adult mentor, each child can discover how to unlock and achieve his or her potential. MENTOR is widely acknowledged as the nation's premier advocate and resource for the expansion of mentoring initiatives nationwide. As such, MENTOR works with a strong network of state and local Mentoring Partnerships to leverage resources and provide the support and tools that mentoring organizations need to effectively serve young people in their communities
Mississippi Department of Mental Health
Since its inception in 1974, the Mississippi Department of Mental Health has endeavored to provide services of the highest quality through a statewide service delivery system. As one of the major state agencies in Mississippi, the Department of Mental Health provides a network of services to persons who experience problems with mental illness, alcohol and/or drug abuse/dependence, or who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. Services are provided through an array of facilities and agencies operated, certified and/or funded by the Department of Mental Health.
National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI)
From its inception in 1979, NAMI has been dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. For three decades, NAMI has established itself as the most formidable grassroots mental health advocacy organization in the country. Dedication, steadfast commitment and unceasing belief in NAMI's mission by grassroots advocates have produced profound changes. NAMI's greatest strength is the dedication of our grassroots leaders and members. We are the families, friends and individuals that serve to strengthen communities across the country. Due in large part to generous individual, corporate, and foundation donations, NAMI is able to build on its success and continue to focus on three cornerstones of activity that offer hope, reform, and health to our American community: Awareness, Education, and Advocacy.
National Association of State Alcohol/Drug Abuse Directors
NASADAD's basic purpose is to foster and support the development of effective alcohol and other drug abuse prevention and treatment programs throughout every State.
National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA)
The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University is the only nation-wide organization that brings together under one roof all the professional disciplines needed to study and combat abuse of all substances – alcohol, nicotine as well as illegal, prescription and performance enhancing drugs – in all sectors of society.
